Freddie Mercury
Freddie Mercury, the iconic frontman of the band Queen, had a special relationship with Montreux. Indeed, the Swiss town was his main residence during the last years of his life. Attracted by its peaceful atmosphere and setting, Mercury fell in love with Montreux and made it his home.
Mountain Studios, a recording studio owned by Queen, is also located in Montreux. It was here that the band recorded several of their legendary albums, including ‘A Night at the Opera’ and ‘A Day at the Races’.
